Infrared sauna has several health benefits. It is being used for detoxification, sweating, skin purification, weight loss, and distress and pain relief. As such there is no infrared sauna harm but if not used properly it may cause some harmful effects.

Infrared sauna emits infrared heat that directly warms the object and not the surrounding air. The heat penetrates deep inside the tissues and produces a healing effect. However, one should properly use it to prevent any sort of infrared sauna harm.

Some of the Infrared sauna harm may be:

Excessive sweating or overheating may result into dehydration which can further leads to depletion of minerals and electrolytes from the body.

It is strongly recommended not to use infrared sauna during illness or any kind of injury because it may disrupts the natural healing process of the body.

Other infrared sauna harm is overheating. Sitting inside the sauna for prolonged period can cause heat exhaustion or heat stroke.

People those who are suffering from medical condition like hematuria are recommended to avoid sauna session as these nay be fatal to disease.

Also those who have cardiac problem, they must consult their doctors before using sauna.

Pregnant women should completely avoid using sauna because the heat produced nay cause discomfort to both mother and child.

Avoid using sauna immediately before or after drinking alcohol because alcohol causes overheating.

Infrared sauna radiation increases the blood circulation. Due to increased blood flow, skin may become red and dry.

There may be infrared sauna harm to the people having disorder like Parkinson’s disease, multiple sclerosis or diabetic neuropathy.

Those who are suffering from eczema or other skin diseases may have itching and skin rashes.

Next, if you have silicon implants, then you must consult your doctor before starting sauna session as silicon implants absorbs infrared heat faster and may have infrared sauna harm.

No doubt, infrared sauna has lots of health benefits but it should be used properly to avoid any kind of infrared sauna harm.
